Venezuelans urge US to intervene to prevent deaths of political prisoners’ relatives

Caracas, Jun 18 (EFE).- A group of Venezuelan activists on Wednesday called on the United States government to intervene to prevent further deaths of relatives of political prisoners in Venezuela, as a month marked since the death of Carmen Navas, mother of Víctor Quero, who died while in state custody.

“No mother should die looking for or waiting for her son. We ask diplomatic representatives, please act as mediators so that all political prisoners are released,” said Francis Quiñones, mother of Second Sergeant Jonathan Franco Quiñones, near the US embassy in Caracas. (Camera: RAYNER PEÑA).
