Villafrea de la Reina, Spain, Apr 29 (EFE).- As he approaches his 60th birthday, León-based cattle rancher Javier Pellón must now rethink his future after a single case of tuberculosis on his ranch forced him to cull his entire herd of cows under regulations that also prohibit him from purchasing any new animals for the next four months. To comply with the health protocol established by the Regional Government of Castile and León for this type of infection, Javier has sent a total of 102 cows to the slaughterhouse, all of them healthy except for one, which tested positive for the disease during an annual health inspection.CAMERA: JAVIER CASARESFOOTAGE OF THE FARMER AND HIS COWS, WHICH HAD TO BE SLAUGHTERED DUE TO A CASE OF TUBERCULOSIS.
