Spanish city of Girona hit by garbage strike on eve of "Temps de Flors" festival

Girona, Spain, May 5 (EFE).- The Spanish city of Girona is facing a major waste collection strike this week, just days before the start of its world-renowned "Temps de Flors" floral festival.

The labor action threatens to overshadow one of the city's primary tourist attractions, which begins on Saturday and typically draws thousands of international visitors.

Negotiations between the service provider, Girona+Neta, and the works committee have completely broken down, with the Intersindical union warning on Tuesday that all previously reached consensus has been nullified. (Camera: EFE).
