Southeast Asian nations study regional oil reserve to combat energy crisis

Cebu, Philippines, May 8 (EFE/EPA).- Political leaders from the 11 nations comprising the Southeast Asian bloc are studying the creation of a regional petroleum reserve to navigate future energy crises, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced on Friday.

Speaking at a press conference following the 48th ASEAN Summit in Cebu, Marcos highlighted the region's vulnerability to global shocks, specifically citing the severe impact of the ongoing closure of the Strait of Hormuz. (Camera: ROLEX DELA PENA).
