SPAIN BLUE FLAGS

Sanxenxo once again tops Spain in number of Blue Flags

Santiago de Compostela, May 6 (EFE).- The beaches of Niñós in Ponteceso (A Coruña), the river beach of Os Franceses in A Veiga (Ourense), and O Laño and Pampaído in the Pontevedra municipalities of Poio and Sanxenxo, respectively, have been awarded Blue Flags for the first time this year.

These are the four new additions to the Blue Flag program in Galicia, where six other beaches that had lost their distinction have regained it, bringing the region’s total this year to 118 distinctions—ten more than in 2025.

Sanxenxo is once again the Spanish municipality with the most awards, with a total of 21 (18 for beaches and three for marinas), with Vigo in second place with 13 (12 for beaches and one for a marina).
