VENEZUELA CRISIS

Relatives of political prisoners hold vigil for prisoner who died in Venezuelan state custody

Caracas, May 8 (EFE).- Around 30 people, most of them relatives of political prisoners in Venezuela, gathered on Friday for a vigil honoring Víctor Hugo Quero Navas, whose death last year while in state custody was acknowledged this week by the government after months of searching by his mother, Carmen Navas, with whom participants expressed solidarity.

The group gathered outside the headquarters of Venezuela’s Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin), known as El Helicoide, in Caracas, where they prayed and shared remarks in memory of Quero Navas, whose body was exhumed on Friday and later transferred to another cemetery for burial in the presence of relatives, including his mother.
