Pro-Palestinian activists protest at Paris arms fair

Paris, Jun 15 (EFE).- Pro-Palestinian activists attempted to block the entrance to the Eurosatory defence exhibition in Paris on Monday, prompting riot police to intervene and detain several protesters.

Around 30 demonstrators gathered outside the Villepinte Exhibition Center to protest against arms manufacturers and denounce what they described as France's double standards toward Israel. The rally came despite French restrictions allowing Israeli companies to display only defensive equipment at this year's event.

Earlier in the day, Israel criticised Eurosatory organisers for walling off several Israeli defence company booths, calling the measure "cynical and discriminatory". Eurosatory is one of the world's largest defence and security exhibitions, with more than 2,600 exhibitors from 61 countries. (Camera: POL LLOBERAS CARDONA).

-The French government has banned the display of offensive weapons. And this implies the existence of weapons used solely and exclusively for defence.

-Israel’s mere presence at this exhibition constitutes a form of complicity in genocide.

-There are no good arms dealers. All arms dealers have blood on their hands.
