Poisonous frog linked to Navalny case, a sought-after exotic pet hit by illegal trade

Quito, May 2 (EFE).- The small poisonous frog whose toxin was linked to the alleged assassination of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny is also a highly sought-after species among exotic pet lovers, due to its small size and variety of colors, which range from reddish, bluish, or white tones depending on its habitat.

It is the Epipedobates anthonyi, a small poisonous amphibian measuring between 19 and 26.5 millimeters in length and found in southern Ecuador and northern Peru.
