Madrid, March 19 (EFE).- Pedro Almodóvar’s new film, ‘Amarga Navidad,’ is the standout release this Friday in Spanish theaters, which for the second week in a row have few new releases aside from what is considered one of the films of the year. Last Friday, it was the ‘Torrente’ effect that dissuaded distributors from scheduling releases on the same day. This new production from El Deseo tells the story of an advertising director played by Bárbara Lennie (‘The Skin I Live In’) who faces her mother’s death while her life intertwines with that of filmmaker Raúl Durán (Leonardo Sbaraglia, ‘Pain and Glory’), blurring the lines between fiction and reality.CAMERA: TATO PÉREZ.FOOTAGE: RED CARPET FOOTAGE FROM THE PREMIERE OF ‘AMARGA NAVIDAD,’ PEDRO ALMODÓVAR'S NEW FILM.
