Havana, Mar 21 (EFE).- Cuba suffered on Saturday a nationwide blackout after a total collapse of the national power grid, the second in less than a week, as authorities began restoration protocols without specifying the cause. The outage comes amid a deepening energy crisis that has worsened in recent months, with prolonged daily power cuts already affecting large parts of the country and leaving some regions without electricity for up to two consecutive days.Experts warn that restoring the system could take days due to fuel shortages and ageing infrastructure, while the crisis, compounded by a lack of investment and external pressures, continues to weigh on the economy and has fuelled recent protests.
