Tokyo, Jun 16 (EFE/EPA).- A magnitude-5.5 earthquake struck central Japan on Tuesday, causing strong shaking in Tokyo and nearby areas, although authorities issued no tsunami warning and there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.The quake struck at 7:46 p.m. local time with its epicentre at a depth of about 50 kilometres beneath Ibaraki Prefecture, northeast of the Japanese capital, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA).Several areas in the neighbouring Gunma prefecture recorded a lower-5 intensity on Japan's seven-point seismic scale.
