Castel Gandolfo (Italy), June 16 (EFE).- Pope Leo XIV welcomed on Tuesday the memorandum between the US and Iran aimed at reaching a peace agreement and expressed his hope that it will serve as a solution to end the war and allow progress “for the good of all.”CAMERA: DANIEL CÁCERES.STATEMENTS BY POPE LEO XIV IN CASTELGANDOLFO (ITALY).1. - “Always call for peace, call for negotiations. Thank God, at least there is this memorandum which, as they say, is expected to be officially signed on Friday. There will still be several points to work out and decide, but it is always better to do so through dialogue and negotiations rather than returning to war. So, I hope that this will truly be a solution to the war, that the war is truly over, and that we can move forward for the good of all—eliminating nuclear weapons, of course—seeking the good of all peoples, and finding ways to resolve the economic and social problems that have arisen during this time.”
