Heavy police presence marks election day in a Jewish neighborhood of London

London, May 7 (EFE).- The London neighborhood of Golders Green, located in the north of the city and with a predominantly Jewish population, experienced an election day on Thursday marked by a heavy police presence—due to recent anti-Semitic attacks—and with ballot boxes expected to be filled with votes against current British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Two officers from the London Metropolitan Police (Met Police) guarded the entrance to one of the neighborhood’s polling stations, located in a building that houses both the municipal library and the local headquarters of the Orthodox Jewish organization Chabad Lubavitch.
