Germany to increase its defense spending by 28% in 2027

Berlin, Apr 29 (EFE).- Germany will increase its defense spending by 27.9 percent in 2027, rising from 82.7 billion euros this year to 105.8 billion next year, according to the budget proposal presented Wednesday by the German government.

The budget proposed by Deputy Chancellor and Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil, a Social Democrat, also includes an allocation of 27.5 billion euros from the special fund for the Armed Forces, 7.8 percent more than in 2026.
