A Coruña withdraws 2030 World Cup bid to focus on "tailored" stadium renovation

A Coruña, Spain, Mar 16 (EFE).- A Coruña City Council announced on Monday that it has officially withdrawn its bid to host the 2030 World Cup, opting instead for a tailored renovation of the Riazor stadium in agreement with Deportivo de La Coruña and the Provincial Council.

Mayor Inés Rey stated that the decision prioritizes a "project designed for decades, tailored specifically for A Coruña and its residents" over FIFA's strict hosting requirements. (Camera: JOSECHU ORTIZ).
