Mandaue City, Philippines, May 8 (EFE/EPA).- Protesters gathered on Friday to call on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to adopt measures to reduce dependence on fossil fuels as the bloc’s leaders held their annual summit in Cebu, central Philippines.

The summit focused on the food and energy crises stemming from the US and Israeli war against Iran, while activists urged Southeast Asian governments to accelerate the transition toward renewable energy and reduce reliance on fossil fuels in response to the climate crisis.
