Amnesty International warns that Venezuela’s amnesty law favors the state

Asunción, March 22 (EFE). - The amnesty law passed in February by the Venezuelan Parliament, which has a Chavista majority, seeks to pardon the “state itself,” Marcos Gómez, director of Amnesty International Venezuela, told EFE. He expressed concern about this law, which, in theory, covers the period from 1999 to 2026, but in practice includes only 13 specific incidents.
