Nearly 400 cats rescued in Vietnam from cat meat trafficking ring

Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, June 17 (EFE).- Nearly 400 live cats, several of them stolen from their owners, were rescued in Ho Chi Minh City during a police operation that dismantled a criminal network involved in the trade of cat meat in the country.

The Saigon Zoo released photographs on Wednesday of cats rescued during last week's raid, which led to the arrest of nine people who admitted to trapping hundreds of cats over the past three years, according to Ho Chi Minh City police. (Camera: HANDOUT).
