Nepal hands over repatriated Lord Bhairab Masks to the local community
Kathmandu (Nepal), 18/06/2026.- The dual bronze Bhairava masks are displayed at the Chauni National Museum in Kathmandu, Nepal, 18 June 2026. The masks, believed to date back to the 16th century, were stolen from a temple in Dolakha in 1994 and were later traced to the Dallas Museum of Art and the Rubin Museum of Art in the United States. Members of the Dolakha community gathered at the museum for a repatriation ceremony after the sacred masks were returned to Nepal in January 2024. (Estados Unidos) EFE/EPA/NARENDRA SHRESTHA
