Two men sentenced for felling Sycamore Gap tree in Britain
Northumberland (United Kingdom), 15/07/2025.- (FILE) - Police on the scene with the remains of the tree at Sycamore Gap next to Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland, Britain, 28 September 2023 (reissued 15 July 2025). Two men were sentenced on 15 July to four years and three months in prison for chopping down the iconic tree in September 2023, as well as damaging the historic Hadrian's Wall during the felling operation The tree appeared in Kevin Costner's 1991 film Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves and had been part of the landscape for 200 years.
